Congratulations to Our 2020 Rise To Shine Scholarship Winner!

Time has flown by since we at Allen Flatt Ballidis & Leslie first announced the finalists to our 2020 Rise to Shine Scholarship. It seemed like an impossible task to read all of the incredible essays you sent our way and pick just a handful of finalists. Little did we know that another truly difficult task was ahead of us. How could we possibly choose just one person to win the $1,000 scholarship from our group of fantastic finalists?

After many long nights reading and re-reading the finalist essays, we have finally chosen our winner. Please, join us in congratulating:

Your essay truly exemplified someone who wants to make the world a better place through kindness. While so many of us approach others with cynicism, it is refreshing to find someone who just wants to make their friends, family, and even strangers happy. It gives us hope for the future of the newest generation of youngest adults. We highly recommend that you all read Blake’s essay, and we hope you also choose to leave the world a kinder place than you found it, just like Blake.

Thank you to everyone that sent us an essay, especially our finalists. While you may not have won the 2020 Scholarship, a new day marks new opportunities. We should all strive to keep working towards our goals, no matter the adversity we face along the way.
