What Drivers Should Learn From the Tiger Wood’s Accident

With more people working from home there are fewer vehicles on the freeways and city streets.  However, due to the lack of normal traffic, we are seeing higher speeds resulting in crashes with more property damage and more severe injuries. As always, when traveling on public roads, obey all posted speed limits and be watchful of those who are speeding. NEVER try to minimize the speed of cars around you by intentionally placing your vehicle in their way. Just move away and allow them to go their way. You will be safer in the long run.

The recent accident of Tiger Woods has brought many questions to mind. Was he speeding? The particular stretch of road he was driving on before his accident is known to be treacherous with tight curves and steep downhills. Some experts have suggested that there might be liability on the part of the cities who share that road, Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates, due to the high number of accidents that occur on that stretch of road.

Some experts have postulated that Tiger was late in applying the brakes, suggesting that he may have been inattentive prior to the crash. It seems unlikely that he fell asleep while driving as he had just left his hotel and people who saw him driving away said he seemed alert. Could he have been texting or otherwise been inattentive?

These questions will no doubt require lengthy studies by experts and examination of the accident scene and the vehicle’s black box, but this message is clear. When driving in an unfamiliar area, drive cautiously. Do not be distracted by your phone’s navigation app. NEVER TEXT WHILE DRIVING. It could ruin your life.
