Meet Our Rise To Shine Scholarship Finalists!
It’s time! We closed our scholarship on July 31st, and now, we’re ready to name names—our finalists’ names, that is! Please join us in celebrating:

You’re the first five finalists ever for the Rise To Shine Scholarship, since this is our inaugural year! One of you will win the prize of $1,000 toward your college or university expenses, but you ALL deserve to be congratulated heartily for making such an impression on us. Out of 226 applicants, we chose you. And there was a reason why—you really showed brilliance in bringing out and embracing your uniqueness.
It will be tough for us to choose just one winner, but we’re already hard at work on the task. Come back to our blog on August 28, 2019, for the official announcement!
Allen Flatt Ballidis & Leslie would like to thank every single student who took the time to apply. We appreciate your effort, and hope that this exercise in writing showed you a bit more about yourself. Since we intend to have an annual scholarship, we invite you to submit an essay again next year. Who knows? Maybe in that time, you’ll have learned something grand or something sobering about yourself, and developed new ways to push forward to being the best you. We wish you all the best as you head off to college (or continue in your studies), and thank you once again!
